Lazy bear gives back

The Lazy Bear Fund is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating unforgettable events that support meaningful causes.

Best known for producing Lazy Bear Week in Guerneville, California, we gather thousands of people each summer to celebrate community, connection, and generosity.

All proceeds from our events go directly into our grantmaking program, which supports LGBTQIA+ nonprofits and health organizations. Whether you’re dancing at a pool party, laughing through game night, or joining us for a quiet moment of support, you’re helping us give back. Since our founding in 2017…

we’ve proudly donated over $2 million to causes that matter and we’re just getting started.

recipients include essential organizations such as West County Health Centers, The Positive Resource Center, spill the tea café, Food for Thought food bank, Russian River Alliance, MPact Global Action, and community mutual aid programs like TurnOut, West County Community Services, AND LGBTQ RECREATIONAL SPORTS LEAGUES.

In times of emergency—wildfires, floods, or pandemic-related hardship—we’ve mobilized to deliver meals, shelter, and support to thousands, including locally providing more than 2,000 meals when needed most.

The Lazy Bear Fund has always been a grass-roots, nonprofit organization. We give all of our profits to causes like clinics and schools and food banks. We help kids and seniors, people living with HIV, or struggling with addiction.

IN 1995 HARRY LIT, ALLEN EGGMAN, AND A GROUP OF THEIR FRIENDS were relaxing POOLSIDE in Guerneville OBSERVING A POORLY ATTENDED EVENT. SOON, THE CONCEPT OF LAZY BEAR WEEKEND WAS BORN. THEY SPENT THE NEXT 20 YEARS PUTTING ON THE LAZIEST, CRAZIEST FUNDRAISING EVENT ON THE PLANET.

HARRY & ALLEN PASSED THE FUND TO A NEW GROUP IN 2017. THE EVENT EXPANDED TO A WEEK AND is run by a small army of volunteers. recipients of lazy bear funds are local, regional, national and international Organizations like West County Health Centers, Food for Thought, PRC, and MPACT global fund.
